About the Role
Our client is seeking an Anti-Financial Crimes Analyst in Sandton, Johannesburg to support their efforts in detecting and preventing financial crimes. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze transactions and activities to identify suspicious patterns and anomalies.
- Analyze financial data and reports to detect potential financial crimes.
- Utilize anti-money laundering (AML) software and tools to enhance detection capabilities.
- Conduct thorough investigations of alerts and cases related to potential financial crimes, gathering and documenting evidence to support findings and recommendations.
- Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to anti-financial crime efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in financial crime investigations, compliance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using AML software and data analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
