About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our team at Letsitele, where they will utilize their knowledge of plant physiology, microbiology, and scientific methodology to develop innovative solutions for agricultural development. With a strong background in research and development, the ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively with our team to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct plant physiology research and apply findings to improve crop yields
- Develop and implement soil microbiology programs to enhance nutrient cycling and disease management
- Collaborate with researchers to design and conduct experiments using scientific methodology
- Work closely with farmers and orchard staff to provide hands-on training and support
- Maintain accurate records of experimental results and data analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture/Plant Sciences or related field
- 5 years of experience in agriculture, preferably with research and development
- Familiarity with plant physiology research, microbiology, and scientific methodology
- Experience working in orchards is highly recommended
- Knowledge of sugarcane is an advantage
Qualifications
- Completed BSc degree in Horticulture/Plant Sciences or related field
