About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our retail store, responsible for managing all aspects of the business unit and achieving agreed budgeted and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily sales budget closely and achieve it
- Monitor and action Daily Traders Contact List, Sending of SMS`s and Faxing of Traders specials.
- Ensure that daily floor walks and Actioning set targets daily, weekly and monthly.
- Follow-up daily and increase store standards.
- Implement 2nd checks at receiving and recorded in 2 nd Checks Management book.
- Monitor customer buying-buying card customers & customers open to buys in terms of available credit facilities.
- Perform daily hazard counts to manage shrinkage
- Ensure all till shorts are eliminated and action taken where required
- Maintain Forklift licences and renewals by staff member
- Do Weekly vehicle inspections for faulty and worn parts/ tires that may cause accidents
- Pest Control-maintain high levels of hygiene on sales floor, bulk stockrooms, and fridges.
- Perform accurate stock take Variance reports to be scrutinized and actioned accordingly
Requirements
- 3 years of management experience in retail
- Strong knowledge of stock management and buying controls
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Proficiency in MS Office software
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Fluency in South African languages
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management or related field
- 1-2 years of experience as a General Manager or similar role
- Relevant certifications such as an HR Diploma or equivalent
Salary & Benefits
- A competitive salary: R500,000 – R600,000 per annum, depending on experience.
