About the Role
Automation Specialist (Robotics) at Unspecified Employer, Durban, required to design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes in automotive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with robotics, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Analysis: analyse existing process to identify opportunities for automation and improvement
- System Design and Development: Design, develop and implement automated systems and processes using various tools and technologies
- Testing and Validation: Thoroughly test and validate automation systems and processes using various tools and technologies
- Trouble shooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain existing automation infrastructure , addressing any issues that arise
- Documentation: create and maintain documentation for automation processes, ensuring clear communication and understanding
- Collaboration with cross functional teams to identify automation need and solutions
- Conduct regular system performance assessments make recommendations for optimisation
- Performing cost benefit analysis to justify automation investments
- Generate reports on automation project performance and results
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Integrate automation systems with other systems or analytical tools
- Provide maintenance and production technical support
- Spare parts control
Requirements
- BTech Degree Electronics / Programming and/or relevant qualification
- At least 5 years relevant and/or similar experience in automotive manufacturing/manufacturing, Technical Training, Programming and Robotics.
- Robotic Experience, preferably ABB and Kawasaki PLC Intermediate, including programming, fault finding and installation, preferably Mitsubishi and Omron Electro pneumatics
- Project Management Duties:

- At least 5 years relevant and/or similar experience in automotive manufacturing/manufacturing, Technical Training, Programming and Robotics.
