About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team on a 4-month temporary contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, purchases, and sales
  • General ledger entries
  • Capture journal entries
  • Verify / reconcile bank statements
  • Month end and year end closing and assisting with audits
  • Prepare / calculate VAT
  • Prepare intercompany recons
  • Maintain Masterfile records and cashbook records
  • Verify invoices, POs, and delivery receipts
  • Prepare payments
  • Generate customer invoices and statements
  • Post / allocate customer payments
  • General financial admin & record keeping
  • Monitor and improve on existing processes

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with B.Degree or Diploma preferred
  • 2 years bookkeeping / finance experience
  • Valid drivers and own transport
  • Computer literacy : MS Office with advanced Excel & Syspro (essential)
  • Willing to work overtime when required from time to time

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • B.Degree or Diploma in a relevant field
  • Certification in bookkeeping or finance (if applicable)

Salary & Benefits

R15 000 per month for the 4-month period
