About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Crop Management Professional to join our team as a Cropping Section Manager. As a key member of our farm management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing various programs that promote improved production efficiency and productivity in our cropping operations. Your expertise in wheat, soybean, and maize farming, combined with your ability to work independently and manage complex systems, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement cropping programs to promote sustainability and consistent improvements in soil fertility and health.
  • Implement a sound crop rotation strategy.
  • Manage planting, spraying, and fertilising programs, in consultation with senior management and external consultants.
  • Procurement of required inputs, in advance of the next cropping season.
  • Create and manage budgets.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of irrigation to promote maximized yields and optimized use of resources.
  • Promote soil fertility through regenerative practices such as cover-cropping.
  • Install new infrastructure such as irrigation, sheds, and fertilizer and grain storage facilities.
  • Provide a weekly report to senior management.
  • Work closely with our procurement and logistics team to ensure sustainable stock levels of all required items and inputs.
  • Maintain grain storage facilities.
  • Produce compost and other related organic inputs.
  • Plan and implement pre and post season equipment inspections.
  • Monitor usage and service records of equipment.
  • Monitor and record usage of chemicals, fertilisers, and other inputs.
  • Utilize modern technology to ensure precision and maximise efficiency.
  • Assist with management of citrus orchards.
