About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting debts from company debtors, setting up credit terms for new clients, and negotiating payment plans. A solid understanding of the legal complexities of loans, payment plans, and interest rates is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluating new credit requests and conducting client credit checks
- Managing and collecting debts from company debtors
- Setting up the terms of credit for new clients
- Negotiating payment plans
- Managing the collection of all payments and debts
- Responding to client inquires
- Processing invoices
- Preparing statements and reports for the company accountant
- Managing the sales ledger
- Liaising with customer and sales team
- Reconciliations for all accounts
- Allocating and processing of payments received
- Filling of remittances and correspondence for all accounts
- Processing (price query) credit notes
- Sorting out queries on account
- Price queries
- Short deliveries
- Stock returns
- POD queries
- Matching credit notes and invoices
- Place overdue accounts on hold
- Telephonic collections
- Monthly reconciliations of accounts for Debtors review meeting
- Retrieving POD’s
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- 4 years of Credit experience
- Finance qualification
- Syspro knowledge
- Solid understanding of the legal complexities of loans, payment plans, and interest rates
- Able to reconcile complex debtors accounts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance or Accounting)
- Finance qualification (e.g. BCom (Accounting) or BCom (Finance))
