FACTORY MANAGER (Fish Processing) – Blackheath, Western Cape
R25 000 – R30 000 Per Month PLUS Overtime
Our Client, an established and reputable Frozen Fish Manufacturer is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to take full ownership of their fish processing operations.
This role is key to implementing and overseeing all production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with Health & Safety and HACCP regulations within their fish plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily production and operations, ensuring targets are met efficiently.
- Lead a team of 6 direct reports and approximately 70 production staff.
- Ensure product quality, hygiene, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Standardize processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee critical production stages: filleting, packing, and temperature control.
- Set up and monitor sorting machines and conveyor systems (maintenance handled by the team).
- Maintain production records and HACCP documentation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fish/food production management.
- Strong knowledge of fish processing techniques and HACCP/Health & Safety compliance (non-negotiable).
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and improve staff efficiency.
- Basic MS Excel skills; advanced functions are a plus.
- Valid drivers license and own transport
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, occasional Saturdays and public holidays
