Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer with strong expertise in functional testing, automation using Selenium, and deep knowledge of mortgage origination and lending processes. The role will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and rolling out automation test frameworks, while ensuring that mortgage technology solutions meet compliance, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality, compliant, and robust banking applications.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and rollout of automation test frameworks for mortgage and lending systems.
- Perform functional, system, and regression testing of mortgage origination platforms and lending applications.
- Design, automate, and execute test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and relevant frameworks.
- Validate endtoend mortgage workflows including:
- Loan origination
- Underwriting
- Credit checks
- Document verification
- Loan approval & disbursement
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand mortgage lifecycle requirements and convert them into test cases.
- Ensure application compliance with banking regulations, mortgage standards, MCOB, and Consumer Duty.
- Conduct API and integration testing using Postman, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Support UAT execution, defect management, rootcause analysis, and test reporting.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and QA strategies.
- Work within LEAP/Agile delivery teams to enhance test processes and ensure engineering excellence.
- Provide documentation, best practices, and support for automation framework adoption across teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Domain Skills
- Strong experience in Mortgage Origination, Lending Operations, LOS systems, and endtoend mortgage lifecycle processes.
- Understanding of banking compliance, risk management, credit evaluation workflows, and regulatory frameworks like MCOB and Consumer Duty.
Technical Skills
- Handson expertise in Selenium WebDriver and automation frameworks (TestNG/JUnit/Maven/Hybrid).
- Experience with API and integration testing using Postman, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Exposure to designing reusable test automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of SQL for backend validation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Test Plans).
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment practices.
Testing Skills
- Strong experience in functional, regression, and endtoend testing of banking and lending platforms.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, and Azure DevOps.
- Ability to design detailed test cases from business and technical documentation.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Strong documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments and deliver highquality outputs.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
- Exposure to private banking, wealth lending, or UK mortgage systems.
Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.
