About the Role
Kethelo Group is seeking skilled and semi-skilled welders and boilermakers to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding duties and contributing to the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding duties using applicable processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick (Arc), and/or Flux-Cored (depending on operational requirements).
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, welding symbols, and job instructions.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, including welding machines, gas equipment, and hand tools.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting, and aligning components prior to welding.
- Execute fabrication tasks such as measuring, marking off, tacking, and assembling parts and structures.
- Ensure welds meet required quality standards, including correct penetration, profile, and finish.
- Conduct basic inspection of welds and rectify defects where required (rework/repair).
- Report equipment faults, material issues, or quality deviations to the supervisor promptly.
- Support continuous improvement by working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
Requirements
Skills in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick (Arc), and/or Flux-Cored are essential for this role. Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is also required.
Qualifications
Formal education or certifications in welding or a related field are an advantage but not mandatory.
