Job Description
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Supervise, manage and support merchandisers on sites
- Ensure correct product placement, stock rotation, pricing accuracy
- Monitor daily attendance, productivity, and performance of merchandisers
- Conduct regular store visits to ensure merchandising standards are met at all times
- Train, coach, and mentor merchandisers to improve performance and maintain consistency
- Liaise with store management to address operational and merchandising requirements
- Identify and resolve site-related issues promptly and professionally
- Ensure promotional activities, displays, and product launches are executed according to client standards
- Assist with stock counts, audits, and store readiness checks
- Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and health and safety regulations
- Act as the main point of contact between merchandisers, store management, and head office.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in retail merchandising
- At least 1–2 years’ proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong understanding of retail operations and merchandising principles
- Experience managing staff in a retail or FMCG environment
- Ability to manage multiple sites and teams simultaneously
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Good administrative and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport (advantageous).
