Job Summary:
To inspect, install, maintain, and service fire protection systems and equipment according to SANS, OHSA, and company safety standards.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
·        Conduct routine servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, fire alarms, and detection/suppression systems.
·        Complete inspections and service reports in line with SANS 1475 requirements.
·        Install fire detection and suppression systems (sprinklers, alarms, gas systems).
·        Perform fault-finding and repairs on fire protection equipment.
·        Ensure all equipment and services comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
·        Assist with fire risk assessments and site surveys.
·        Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and asset registers.
·        Maintain tools and stock levels in the service vehicle.
 
 
Qualifications and Experience:
·        Grade 12/N3 minimum.
·        SAQCC Fire or registered technician (compulsory).
·        SANS 1475 certification or training (mandatory for servicing fire extinguishers).
·        Knowledge of fire protection equipment, systems, and relevant codes.
·        Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
·        Good physical condition (manual handling and ladder work involved).
·        High attention to detail and safety-conscious.
