About the Role
The company is looking for an energetic, analytically minded individual who can optimize the Foundry Products and Processes to develop towards greater World Class manufacturing standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Foundry related Scrap, Rework and First Time Pass rate measured against set targets in each Department.
- Resources are utilised effectively and efficiently to achieve a reduction in Energy consumption or project initiatives managed to explore alternatives to current process or product utilization.
- Manage projects within the Foundry and Service Departments, gather information, and liaise with Contractors, set up timelines, costing and responsibilities. Projects will be measured against set targets of Return on Investment and include detailed drawings of equipment or department layout changes where applicable.
- Conduct laboratory investigations with respect to material failures or defect analysis due to process faults. Compile an investigation report, detailing possible cause, solution and implementation of corrective actions and controls to prevent further incident.
- Develop and sustain a mould library, including exploded model, General assembly, individual cores, and full cooling assembly including manufacturing drawings and all parts and accessories detailed for in-house manufacture.
Requirements
- Tertiary education in the field of Mechanical and/or Metallurgical Engineering or an applicable qualification to this position is essential.
- Design experience and proficiency using the following project and design packages; MS projects, AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor would be advantageous.
- Design exposure or experience with regards to 3D conceptualization and surface modeling using Magma software will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma concepts and techniques.
