About the Role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team in Longmeadow. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of electrical equipment in our warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or facilities repair/maintenance requests
• Conduct first-line trouble shooting for repairs and facilities, including electrical, distribution boards, lights, plugs, and extractor fans
• Analyse maintenance/repair requirements and identify necessary tools, materials, and technical support
• Arrange external technical support from approved providers as required
• Perform minor repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery in a warehouse environment
• Develop maintenance schedules for conveyor systems, lifts, hoists, roller doors, firefighting equipment, alarms, and CCTV systems
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety
• Report on problems and summary action taken
• Provide material estimates related to small remodel projects
• Maintain daily logs of maintenance and installation

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum 2 – 3 years experience as a maintenance technician with an Electrical Trade (Real Seal) from an accredited institution
