About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team on a fishing vessel based in Cape Town City Centre. As Chief Engineer Officer, you will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and repair of all engineering equipment aboard the vessel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the main engines, generators, and auxiliary systems to ensure efficient and safe functioning
  • Coordinate with the Captain and other departments to maintain uninterrupted fishing and processing operations
  • Manage safety procedures and compliance with maritime regulations
  • Supervise engineering crew and ensure maintenance routines are followed accurately

Requirements

  • SAMSA CoC (Certificate of Competency)
  • Auxiliary certifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience in marine engineering, particularly within the fishing industry
