About the Role
The Food Technologist will play a critical role in maintaining the quality of our food products by ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety management systems, HACCP, and FSSC/ISO 22000.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance of GMP and Food Safety Management Systems
- Control of Food Safety Records
- Verification, Signing & Filing of Records
- Ordering of Record Forms/Books
- Participation in Production and Implementation of Procedures (PRPs)
- Updating of Records and Procedures as Required
- Accompanying Regulatory Inspectors
- Participating in External Audits
- Compiling Monthly Food Safety Meeting Minutes
- Assisting in Investigations and Feedback to the Senior QAT
- Monitoring Suppliers Quality Assurance
- Conducting Monthly GMP Internal Audits
- Conducting Traceability Studies
- Ensuring Practices are in Line with Documented FSMS Requirements
- Testing Water Supplies, Products, Drains, Air, Equipment & Hands
- Establishing Universal System and Product Sampling Procedure
- Comparing COAs vs Specifications
- Recording, Documenting, Disposing of Non-Conforming Materials
- Analyzing Non-Conforming Materials to Prevent Recurring Problems
Requirements
- National Diploma in Food Technology or Equivalent Qualification
- Internal Auditing Certificate
- Experience in Milling, Extrusion, Retorting, Refinery, and Baking Processes
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Understanding of HACCP and FSSC/ISO 22000
- Working Knowledge of MSOffice – Access
