About the Role
The Head of Division: Business Development role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for driving business growth and expansion through strategic marketing, product development, and sales efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to lead our Business Development functions, identify new business opportunities, and develop effective strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement approved Marketing strategy for the company
- Develop and manage the new product pipeline
- Expand the supply and distribution of company products
- Direct the management of all Business Development functions
- Source and analyse marketing intelligence, providing strategic insights to the Executive Team on current and emerging products, markets, and business opportunities
- Identify and evaluate relevant tender opportunities
- Develop an export pricing strategy
- Manage marketing and sales of Biotechnology products
- Determine product pricing to meet revenue requirements while remaining competitive
- Compile necessary submissions (e.g. SEP)
- Identify business opportunities in keeping with the company’s vision, mission, and values
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve new business sales targets and results
- Prepare proposals, new business estimates, and business development reports
- Contribute to the company’s internal marketing strategy
- Distribute channel analysis and development in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager
- Keep abreast of industry developments and clinical use of the company’s products using competitive intelligence gathering techniques
- Develop multi-year sales forecast and revenue budget
- Consolidate and present annual Divisional Budget for approval
- Stakeholder liaison
- People Management
Requirements
A postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Sales, or Business Development is required. An additional qualification in the medical/paramedical field would be advantageous.
