Assistant Kitchen Manager and Sous Chef
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and reliable individual to join our kitchen team as an Assistant to the Kitchen Manager and Head Chef. The successful candidate must have a passion for food, be creative and work well under pressure. Requirements: – Formal training or certificate in professional food preparation (Chef) and culinary science. – Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. – Good knowledge of portion control and food preparation. – Good knowledge of inventory control and cost estimation in a professional kitchen. – Must be proficient in the use of computers and basic software for planning and purchasing. – Must be able to compile menus and calculate costs effectively. – Must be creative and able to think quickly on their feet. – Must have good leadership and teamwork skills. – Must be willing to work long hours and weekends if necessary. – Must be reliable, have a positive work attitude and be able to perform under pressure. – Must be in possession of a valid drivers license. Compensation: A market-related salary is payable, and housing on the farm is included.
