About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Assistant to join our team in Bloemfontein. As a qualified post-basic pharmacist assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and dispense prescriptions for patients in writing, electronically or by phone.
- Verify information on prescription.
- Maintain patient profiles on the system as well as medicine history.
- Answer telephones (landline and WhatsApp) for dispensing of prescriptions.
- Handle ordering of stock if required from the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Fill bottles with prescription medicine and label with applicable label.
- Dispensing prescription medicine as well as over-the-counter medicine.
- Provide advise regarding prescription medicine as well as over-the-counter medicine to clients.
- Treat clients in a friendly and polite manner. Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- Control stock as well as the inventories of prescription medicine, as well as over-the-counter medicine.
- Be responsible for properly maintaining the shelves in the dispensary and timeously packing stock on the shelves.
- Filling prescriptions and copies thereof daily.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and stock in the pharmacy.
- Daily follow-ups on unpaid levies and outstanding levy reports if requested by the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Weekly follow-ups on unpaid prescription reports from ICW if requested by the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Wear clean and prescribed uniform and name plate, to be clearly and easily identified in the pharmacy.
- Help with training and orientation of new personnel.
- Clock in and out on the Ouch system at the beginning and ending of every shift, or if you leave the pharmacy for lunch breaks or any other reason.
