About the Role
Our client, a global management consulting firm based in Cape Town City Centre, is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their dynamic Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, technically strong, analytical, and proactive individual with a passion for delivering high-quality financial solutions. With a solid background in accounting, audit, and tax, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s international integration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize complex financial files for audits and reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS for SMEs, UK GAAP, and Companies Act requirements.
- Assist with audit readiness by compiling documentation, resolving queries, and ensuring reconciliations are technically sound.
- Support systems integration with our international parent group, applying technical skills to multi–entity considerations and ERP alignment.
- Analyze financial data to identify anomalies, risks, and opportunities, providing insights.
- Assist with monthly management accounts and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in inter‑company balances and foreign currency transactions.
Requirements
- Registered CA (SA) or eligible to register
- 3 years post‑article experience
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and managing audit files in a multi–entity environment
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, Income Tax, and VAT
- Exposure to group audits
- Proven working knowledge of Sage ERP is highly advantageous (alternatively, a similar ERP/accounting systems)
- Strong and proven working knowledge on MS Excel is essential
Qualifications
- Registered CA (SA) or eligible to register
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (if applicable)
