Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Manager to lead the organisation. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being for our residents. You will manage a skilled team, recruit new staff where needed, foster a positive and inclusive environment, and liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies. Main Responsibilities • Provide strong and supportive leadership to the organisation and staff, holistically promoting a rights-informed, person-centered approach to provide quality care for residents • Manage a fundraising team tasked with raising at least 50% of the organisation’s turnover • Oversee the recruitment, training, support and ongoing development of administrative staff, healthcare professionals and auxiliary carers. • Ensure compliance with all DoH, DSD and other relevant regulatory and organisational policies and procedures • Oversee the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs • Manage budgets and resources efficiently • Facilitate continuous improvement in care quality • Build and maintain collaborative and consultative relationships with residents’ families, local authorities, volunteers, the local and wider community, intersectoral partners and funders • Work co-operatively with an involved board and report regularly to the Executive Committee • Oversee Human Resources management, in cooperation with relevant staff and, when necessary, a consultant About You • Proven experience managing a residential or care facility • Previous experience working with people who have intellectual disability would be an advantage • Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care or equivalent • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills • Commitment to providing and advocating for person-centred care and human rights • Thorough understanding of current South African legislation, safeguarding, and best practice standards and principles • Empathy, integrity, innovative and a genuine passion for making a difference and working with people who have intellectual disability • Ability to manage a large and diverse staff group, and to promote their professional development Benefits • Competitive salary and benefits package • Supportive Management Board • The opportunity to transform our facility into a first-class care environment which advocates for the rights of people with ID and other disabilities who have complex and high care needs.
