ENVIRONMENT: Our client is a leading digital agency specialising in performance marketing, technology, and digital platforms for the world’s most respected luxury travel and hospitality brands. They are seeking a Head of Technology to lead the next phase of the Group’s technical maturity, strengthening delivery reliability, evolving their platform and infrastructure, and building a high-performing technology team that scales with the business. DUTIES: Technology Leadership & Delivery Own end-to-end technology delivery across their client portfolio and internal platforms Lead and develop a team of Full Stack Developers, remaining technically fluent and close to delivery Set and uphold standards for code quality, architecture, security, and delivery reliability Provide technical leadership across web platforms, CMS builds, front-end frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure Take ultimate accountability for technical outcomes, delivery quality, and production stability Infrastructure, Security & Reliability Oversee infrastructure, hosting environments, deployment pipelines, and monitoring Ensure robust security practices, backups, and incident response processes Lead infrastructure upgrades, rebuilds, and preventative improvements as required Reduce operational risk through documentation, validation checks, and systemisation Architecture & Platform Evolution Guide system architecture and technical decision-making across client and internal products, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and scale Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability and scalability Partner with leadership on the evolution of their proprietary platforms and internal tooling Identify and manage technical debt pragmatically Team & Culture Build a calm, accountable, and high-performing technology culture Mentor and support developers, providing clear expectations and constructive feedback Ensure healthy collaboration between Technology, Client Experience, Marketing, and Operations Lead by example, hands-on when required, but focused on leverage and enablement Commercial & Leadership Alignment Act as the senior technology voice in leadership discussions Support accurate scoping, estimation, and delivery planning Protect margins through realistic timelines and sound technical decisions Partner with the CEO on technology strategy, resourcing, and budgeting REQUIREMENTS: Experience & Qualifications Required 8years’ experience in web or platform development (full stack) Prior leadership experience managing developers and technical delivery Strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks, CMS platforms, APIs, and deployment workflows Experience with cloud hosting environments, CI/CD, and version control (e.g. Git) Solid grounding in security best practices and operational risk management Experience working in an agency, SaaS, or high-delivery environment Beneficial Experience working within modern JavaScript-based web stacks and API-driven architectures Familiarity with frameworks such as Next.js and modern Git-based workflows Exposure to performance optimisation, CRO, and SEO from a technical perspective Experience contributing to internal platforms or proprietary products Exposure to headless and traditional CMS platforms (e.g. Payload, WordPress) Comfort operating in cloud-hosted environments and evolving an existing stack pragmatically rather than rebuilding for novelty ATTRIBUTES: A senior technology leader with a strong engineering foundation and proven delivery experience Comfortable owning complex systems and imperfect legacy environments Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, and accountable Able to balance hands-on technical fluency with leadership and delegation Commercially aware – you understand how technology decisions impact clients, margins, and reputation Clear communicator who can translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders Motivated by building reliable systems and capable teams, not ego or novelty
