About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy from data input to timely employee payments, while also championing compliance with all payroll-related legislation across RSA, African regions, and the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the payroll process across RSA, African regions, and the UKensuring accuracy from data input to timely employee payments Champion compliance with all payroll-related legislation, including tax, benefits, and deductions Keep records sharp by maintaining accurate payroll data and delivering insightful reports to management and statutory bodies Solve challenges fast by reconciling payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly Collaborate for success with the Employee Benefits team to ensure flawless employee data and payroll integrity Be audit-ready by supporting payroll and benefits audits with precision Drive efficiency by developing and implementing smarter processes and systems Manage impact of share incentive schemes on payroll and reporting
- Flex your expertise by assisting with broader accounting and finance functions when needed
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience with 2 years leading a team In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, accounting principles and payroll regulations. Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices, as well as in-depth knowledge of South African payroll and tax laws Proficient in payroll software and systems, such as Oracle Knowledge of legislation as it pertains to Payroll. Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office (Excel expertise is a must) Experience preparing detailed reports Supervise, mentor and develop a team in order to ensure high performance Maintaining dividend statements Budget and forecasting various countries (RSA and African countries)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
