Cape Town City Centre: PLANT MANAGER (WESTERN CAPE) (Junior)

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the daily operations, maintenance and management of Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) Facility. The incumbent is required to professionally manage the FSM facility so that all project, contractual and operational obligations against set performance criteria and targets are met. Well thought out planning and implementation strategies form an integral part of the position, striving and ensuring that Clients / Customers preferring to continue KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Manage all plant operational, maintenance and management of day to day tasks, including issues relating to shifts, staff and hand over. Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives. Optimise the use of financial resources by minimising cost, through appropriate financial cost control. Monitoring and maintaining accurate and up to date operational and maintenance records Reporting on all aspects of the plant performance, compliance and processes Ensure efficient resource management of employees to ensure they are able to meet the performance objectives required of them. Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service. Control Budget and ensure contractual requirements are met and achieved within budget. Manage and maintain ISO 9000, 14001, 50001 and 18001 systems and work procedures by monitoring and developing training actions and new procedures as and when required. Perform plant performance monitoring and quality control as predetermined quality control schedule Compile Monthly Plant Progress Reports, schedule and attend client meetings Client liaison and correspondence COMPETENCY PROFILE Knowledge: Relevant Technical Diploma (or similar) in Water Treatment, Civil / Mechanical or Process Engineering DWS Class V Process Controller with at least 5 years’ verifiable operation, maintenance and management experience at a Class B or higher WWTW Skilled in Water and Waste Water Management Relevant management experience Proven record of satisfactory prior performance Skills and Personal Attributes: Managerial qualities with ability to form teams, facilitate teamwork and motivate performance. Orientation towards Goal achievement and Client / customer satisfaction. Business minded and entrepreneurial. Competent and credible communicator, being able to do presentations to internal and external teams / clients / customers. Ability to set objectives, delegate work and measure performance of employees. Good communication and Interpersonal skills Skills in planning, attention to detail and troubleshooting Strict business ethics. High level of Computer competency and skills: MS Office suite, PowerPoint, data base, Outlook, etc. Mechanical and analytical aptitude (trouble shooting)
