An established organisation based in Athlone Industria 1, Cape Town, is seeking a Junior Accountant to support its finance function. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation, keen attention to detail, and a desire to grow within a professional and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Update the daily cash book and post transactions to the general ledger.

• Assist with the preparation of Quarterly Management Accounts.

• Support creditor and debtor control activities.

• Perform general administrative duties including filing, answering calls, and document control.

• Provide support to senior finance staff on ad-hoc accounting tasks.

Requirements

• Accounting-related Diploma or Degree (essential).

• 23 years experience in an accounting support role.

• Prior experience in a CA firm, preparing books up to Trial Balance stage, will be advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Omni Accounting Software beneficial.

• Fluent in English with strong communication and telephone etiquette.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and time management.

• A team player who is adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn.

• Open to feedback and committed to continuous professional development.

• Candidates must reside in or near the Athlone or Mitchells Plain areas.
