About the Role

A client of ours, an established water engineering consultancy in Cape Town is looking to expand its design team and is seeking passionate Mechanical Engineers at all levels who are eager to build a long-term career in water and wastewater system design. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy hands-on technical design work, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to play a key role in developing sustainable water infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptual and detailed mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment projects.
Prepare and review technical drawings, equipment layouts, and piping designs.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
Conduct design reviews, perform calculations, and support the preparation of tender and construction documentation.

Requirements

BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven interest or experience in the water and wastewater sector.
Strong understanding of mechanical system design principles and relevant engineering standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Afrikaans proficiency is an advantage but not essential.

Qualifications

BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
