About the Role
A well-established South African business is seeking a skilled Tax & Reporting Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly general journals, income/deferred tax journals, and subsidiary statutory financial statements.
- Assist with quarterly, half-year, and year-end reporting, including Board reporting.
- Prepare balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and budgeted cash flow statements.
- Review tax schedules, maintain Wear & Tear register, and prepare provisional tax calculations.
- Prepare tax returns, manage SARS queries, and ensure compliance for VAT, PAYE, and income tax.
- Support ERP automation, process optimisation, and finance-related projects.
- Assist Finance Manager with overall department management and year-end audit deliverables.
- Manage banking administration, maintain profiles, and support regulatory reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting processes.
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-articles experience.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in IFRS reporting, group accounts, and consolidations.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Proven leadership and managerial skills, with experience guiding and developing teams.
Qualifications
- CA(SA) qualification required.
- Matric (Garde 12).
- BCom Accounting, BCom Finance, or a related degree; accounting-related qualifications will be advantageous.
