About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury lodge in Ceres, Western Cape. This live-in role offers the opportunity to work alongside the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences in a high-end hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development
- Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Monitor inventory, manage stock, and control food costs
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations within the kitchen
Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within luxury hospitality
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for high-quality cuisine
