Production Manager – Meat Processing Industry
Are you a hands-on Production Manager with extensive experience in meat processing and butchery operations ? We are seeking a highly skilled and practical individual to lead our production team. This role is ideal for someone with strong meat-cutting expertise , a background in meat pricing, yield management, and operational efficiency , and a minimum of 10 years of industry experience . Key Requirements: Minimum 10 years of experience in meat processing, starting as a butcher before progressing into management Certificate or Diploma in Production Management Expertise in meat-cutting and portioning, with the ability to train and develop staff Strong experience in yield management, meat pricing, and costing Hands-on production floor leadership, not just office-based management. Experience in boning hall design, layout planning, and extension projects Ability to implement changeovers from FQ to HQ and streamline operations Knowledge of cross-training strategies to create a flexible workforce Experience in efficiency optimization and process improvement Key Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end meat processing operations, ensuring efficiency and quality Manage butchery teams, providing training in meat-cutting techniques and processing methods Implement line layout improvements, ensuring optimal workflow Maintain high-yield efficiencies and oversee meat pricing and costing Supervise boning hall extensions and facility layouts Drive cross-training initiatives to create a multi-skilled workforce Lead operational changeovers from Forequarter (FQ) to Hindquarter (HQ) processing Monitor and improve production efficiencies and cost controls Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with HACCP
