Job Summary

The minimum requirements for this position are: Matric Technical related qualification Relevant Boiler making qualification 5-10 years experience Must be able to read technical and mechanical drawings Problem solving and fault-finding skills Understanding of a Seasonal working environment and the applicable principles Good Interpersonal and Communication skills (both written and verbal) Basic knowledge of refrigeration would be an added advantage Responsibilities for the Position, amongst others: Will be falling under the Maintenance Department Reporting directly to the Shift Leader Required to work during Plant Shutdowns to carry out Plant Maintenance Comply with safety regulations and maintain 5S Housekeeping Must be able to work without supervision Must be able to work Fast and Accurately Working closely with other departments to resolve Manufacturing Challenges Required to attend Departmental Meetings Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities providing ideas and suggestions. Required to work overtime when necessary Must have strong mechanical aptitude Must have knowledge and experience working with hand and power tools Must be able to read and interpret technical and assembly drawings Must be willing and able to work under pressure and according to deadlines Knowledge pertaining to lock out and isolation procedures Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English Practical and problem-solving skills Must be proficient in reading structural and plating drawings Vast experience with fabricating and erecting steel structures according to drawing plans Experience required in refurbishing steel structures according to standards Good knowledge of the various types of steels and their properties in use Must be able to fabricate, assemble, install, test, maintain and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers and other heavy-metal structures Must have experience with Gas and Plasma Cutting Must be proficient with Mig, Tig, Arc and Gas Welding
