Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Youll be responsible for detailed electrical design, solar system optimization, and ensuring successful execution from concept to commissioning. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid electrical background, solar experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Produce detailed Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for solar PV systems, including switchgear, DBs, and full electrical layouts. Use Helioscope (or equivalent) to generate panel layouts and optimize inverter stringing and system performance. Design and specify battery storage solutions for hybrid and backup systems. Create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and costing. Manage and follow through on SSEG applications alongside the PR Engineer, client, and admin team taking full responsibility until completion. Participate in project kick-off meetings and assist with technical handovers and commissioning documentation. Collaborate across project, admin, and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication. Ensure all designs meet SANS, NRS, and other local compliance standards. What Were Looking For : Electrical Engineering qualification or Electrical Technician with relevant solar experience. Proficiency in solar PV system design and layout tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVSol, AutoCAD). Solid understanding of electrical systems, inverter matching, and string configurations. Experience with or understanding of SSEG application processes (advantageous). Strong attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving mindset. Willingness to work after hours when necessary to meet project deadlines. A self-starter with a collaborative and professional approach.
