This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, delivering exceptional dining experiences aligned with a luxury brand standard, and driving innovation through refined, seasonal, and farm-to-table cuisine. The successful candidate will lead and inspire the kitchen team, manage budgets and food costs effectively, and maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. This role requires a confident culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced luxury environment and enjoys engaging with guests. A food portfolio must be submitted with your application ; clearly showcasing creativity, innovation, and attention to detail. All images will be checked to ensure ownership. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality cuisine Lead; train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to achieve excellence Develop innovative, seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced and farm-to-table ingredients Manage kitchen budgets, food cost controls, stock levels, supplier relationships, and waste reduction Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards Maintain strong guest interaction and hosting presence within the dining experience Requirements Minimum 4 years experience as a Senior Chef in a high-end 5-star lodge or hotel Culinary Diploma or Degree from a reputable chefs academy (preferred) Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines and modern cooking techniques Proven leadership and team management skills Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays Must be available to complete a working interview Valid South African drivers license Solid track record with contactable references Start ASAP Nationality South Africans Only Package On application with live in benefits PLEASE NOTE – Although we appreciate all applications received, we will only reply to those candidates who have the background and experience required.
