About the Role
The Entry-Level Electrician will assist qualified electricians with installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems. This role is ideal for candidates who are starting their career in the electrical trade and looking to gain hands-on experience while developing technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Support senior electricians in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment required for electrical tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
- Learn and apply industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
- Perform basic tasks such as drilling holes, pulling wires, and preparing conduits.
Requirements
- South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme.
- NQF Level 4/5 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and under supervision.
- Physically fit to perform manual tasks.
