As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will:

• Take ownership of the company’s IT environment (networks, servers, hardware, and security).
• Be at the forefront of cybersecurity, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
• Contribute to cloud migration projects and ensure smooth, reliable business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and secure all company networks, servers, and IT infrastructure.
• Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity and data security protocols.
• Oversee and test system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and optimise servers (Windows & Linux), network devices, and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues while ensuring system uptime and performance.
• Collaborate with the IT Operations Manager on infrastructure policies, budgets, and vendor management.

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Education: Relevant IT qualification (BSc in Computer Science or related field advantageous).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in IT infrastructure maintenance and support.
• Technical Skills (non-negotiable):
  • Network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, wireless).
  • Server technologies (Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Active Directory, VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Acronis).
  • Microsoft Azure experience.
  • Cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Advantageous Skills & Certifications:
  • ManageEngine experience.
  • CompTIA Network+ / Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical ability, communication skills, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
