About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our Faculty of Law at Nelson Mandela University as a Lecturer in Mercantile Law. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic project, facilitate learning and teaching, conduct research, and engage with the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective learning and teaching at undergraduate level, specifically in Mercantile Law modules
- Assume responsibility for course materials, lectures, tutorials, and assessment of modules in Mercantile Law
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Perform independent research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Department or Faculty
Requirements
- An LLM in a sub-discipline in Law
- At least 2 years of experience in a teaching, learning, supervision, and research environment
- Demonstrated ability to produce research outputs, including accepted outputs in accredited journals (ideally at least two accredited publications for lecturer position)
- Supervision experience is an advantage
Qualifications
- Completed LLM degree
- Completion of Matric with a strong academic record
