Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Heidelberg. The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, with strong accounting skills and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. This is a mid-level role suited to someone who can work independently and manage day-to-day financial tasks with precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting
- Handle VAT submissions and statutory compliance
- Support payroll processing and related reconciliations
- Liaise with external auditors and financial institutions as needed
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality across all financial systems
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 35 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero) and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Preferably reside in or near Heidelberg, Gauteng
