Regional IT Support
Minimum Job Requirements: Matric. National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology. Minimum 2 to 3 years experience within a support environment. Key Performance Areas: Report to the Divisional IT Supervisor Users: Setup new users. Diagnose and solve user problems. Assist users in maximising the IT investment. Provide users security training and awareness in conjunction with system tools. Ensure users log calls for support with the helpdesk. Infrastructure: Desktop support. LAN support, including printers, phones, scanners, IP devices like biometric clocking readers, Wi-Fi etc. Troubleshoot and log calls with suppliers and communicate with Head Office. WAN support – be the onsite go-to-person with regards to installations and repairs. Server administration. Anti-virus and Windows updates. Back-ups (centrally managed; administered locally). Power/UPS – ensure core services are running smoothly and report maintenance requirements. Software licensing, report unlicensed software and maintain records of any specific local software purchased, such as CAD software. Suppliers: Obtain quotes and follow the procurement process. Assist suppliers where needed. IT Team: Work as part of a team of IT support staff nationally. Assist more junior staff in the region. Continuous Improvement: Participate in Continuous Improvement drives. Administration: Conduct general IT administration.
