About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer/Setter to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings and manufacturing sizes to identify machining requirements and set-up equipment needs.
Program and set CNC Milling Machines without assistance, ensuring parts meet drawing requirements for dimensionality and visual quality.
Correctly select and use measuring equipment (bore and external micrometers) for groove measurements.
Meet set-up and production targets and efficiencies.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret drawings and manufacturing sizes.
Knowledge of machining requirements and set-up equipment needs.
Experience with CNC Milling Machines, including HM800 with Fanuc Control; Daewoo; Johnford; VMC 1050 with 4th First line quality control experience (advantageous).
At least 5 years of CNC Milling Machine setting and programming experience.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Understanding of ISO standards (advantageous).

Qualifications

Trade-tested machinist/millwright qualification.
