Location: Hybrid – Johannesburg Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Financial Services | Tax Recovery | Custodian Operations WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a global tax recovery business to appoint a driven and strategic Custodian Network and Operations Manager. This is a high-impact role responsible for building strong relationships with some of the world’s largest custodian banks and streamlining tax reclaim operations on a global scale. If you’re analytical, client-focused, and experienced in financial operations—this role offers an exciting platform to lead and optimise within an international finance environment. About the Role You’ll lead a key function within the custodian operations and network services team, focusing on optimising global custodial processes, guiding junior executives, and ensuring timely reclaim submissions. This role requires exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and a commercial mindset to identify efficiencies and opportunities across international finance networks. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end operations and relationships with global custodian banks Support and mentor junior team members on custodian process optimisation Improve operational efficiencies to enhance client tax reclaim outcomes Understand client structures to identify additional withholding tax opportunities Stay updated on market regulations and tax legislation changes Handle technical queries and consolidate responses from foreign tax offices Track deadlines and ensure accurate, timely reclaim submissions Resolve issues from custodian banks and escalate when required Collaborate with the Global Manager on strategic custodial goals Maintain high standards of professionalism, reporting, and communication What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualification in Commerce or Law (e.g., CA, Finance, Economics, BCom Law) 3–4 years’ experience in finance, law, investment banking, private equity, or consulting Experience managing a team Strong Excel skills and administrative capabilities Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills Strategic mindset with problem-solving strengths Ability to manage deadlines and high volumes under pressure Valid South African passport or work permit Nice to Have Proficiency in additional European languages (French, Italian, Spanish, German) Exposure to custodian banking or global tax recovery What’s On Offer Competitive market-related compensation High-impact role within a globally recognised tax recovery leader Opportunity to drive strategic change in a high-value client environment Hybrid work model and performance-driven team culture Clear path to leadership and growth in global financial operations Company Culture Our client operates with a collaborative, performance-focused culture that emphasises initiative, mentorship, and client excellence.
