About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Business Unit as a Deputy Business Unit Leader. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex audit operations, leading teams, and driving business unit-wide initiatives. They will be responsible for contributing to the company’s organizational strategy, implementing operational strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the audit operations in line with relevant audit methodology and standards
  • Coordinate resources for auditing activities and plans, including integrated audits with other business units (SAS) and external audit firms
  • Provide leadership for technical and operational matters in the business unit, implementing best practices and improving risk management
  • Lead sensitive, complex, and high-risk engagements
  • Sign and review audit reports for significant and complex audits
  • Lead and monitor the implementation of the audit strategy
  • Drive and direct audit strategy for large and complex SOEs

Requirements

  • CA (SA) or RGA or ACCA qualification
  • Minimum 10 years relevant post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years in a senior management role
  • Extensive experience in auditing large and complex IFRS clients that have to comply with Companies Act, King Code, and PFMA, including bond listings in the domestic and international markets
  • Extensive experience in auditing large and complex SOEs with large treasury functions
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of experts and support functions to manage risk and quality on audits

Qualifications

  • CA (SA) or RGA or ACCA qualification
