Job Description
Hire Resolve’s Client, a leading company in the food industry , is urgently seeking a Financial Controller based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the company and providing strategic financial guidance.
In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information and support decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Financial Management:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
- Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance in developing and maintaining robust internal controls.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead the finance team, which includes a Bookkeeper, Credit Controller, Receptionist/Sales, Stock Controller, and GRV/Admin Clerk.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and achieve organizational objectives.
- Support the Head of Finance in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit Preparation:
- Prepare documentation and assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience in a financial management role.
- Professional certification (e.g., SAICA, CIMA) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse finance team.
- Experience and exposure in the FMCG required.
