About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable boutique advisory company in Johannesburg, is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Modeller to join their team. As a Financial Modeller, you will develop transaction financial models for both the private and public sector in the infrastructure and project finance projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and analyze financial information, forecast future performance, and evaluate potential business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain appropriate financial models meeting the requirements of investors, sponsors, financiers and/ or procuring agencies as the case may be;
  • Review, manage and amend existing financial models;
  • Prepare various reports and presentations, specifically in support of the financial models prepared or reviewed;
  • Perform ad hoc analysis using financial models and/or various datasets (e.g. data analysis trend analysis);
  • Assist in marking up and preparing various reports and agreements, where applicable using the inputs and results from the financial model;
  • Attend various meetings and interact with clients, lenders, investors, financiers, operations contractors, construction contractors, engineers, legal advisors or government agencies as may be required in relation to the project and related arrangements;
  • Develop the Company’s financial modelling competencies;
  • Assist with new business development e.g. tenders; and
  • Assist with general project management as may be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in corporate finance, private equity or project finance
  • Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc) or B.Com degree in financial mathematics, accounting or statistics with a desire to move into a direction of project and infrastructure finance
  • CFA / FMVA qualification beneficial
  • Proven experience in financial modelling and analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
