Welding Supervisor Report to: Operations Manager Seniority Level: Mid Career (4-6 yrs exp) Type: Contractor Region: Gauteng Duties and Responsibilities: To monitor welder performance and weld quality consistent with relevant procedures, specifications, inspections, and client requirements to complete project requirements. Responsibilities: Control and coordinate all allocated site welding activities. Deploy manpower according to the scope of work and production plan. Maintain welder qualification records in accordance with relevant standard practice. Advise on acceptable levels of set-up and weld preparation from boilermakers/pipe fitters prior to welding. Monitor the timely repair of all weld failures. Contribute to welder training by providing the necessary guidance on technique, equipment, and best practices. Compile and maintain all welding N.D.T. and Heat Treatment documentation. Monitor and advise on the general safety of welders. Ensure the control of all welders’ equipment and protective gear. Qualifications: Certification in HIRA, RCAT, Working at heights and in confined spaces. Good knowledge of fabrication and welding codes and ISO 3834. Completed recognized Welding trade test. Minimum of 5 years welding experience in a boiler with 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Matric Sectors: Engineering and Technical Functions: Trade – Welder
