Johannesburg: Workshop Cleaner

Workshop Cleaner: Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop environment. Ensure compliance with the Hitachi Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, as well as the companys Safe Work and ISO-related procedures. Key Responsibilities: Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, waste disposal, and restroom maintenance, to ensure all areas remain clean and hygienic. Comply with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain all cleaning tools, materials, and supplies in good working condition, and promptly report any faults, shortages, or maintenance requirements to the Supervisor. Interact professionally with staff and visitors while supporting overall site operations and promoting a positive work environment. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop at all times. Adhere to the companys Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, ensuring compliance with Safe Work and ISO-related standards. Requirements: South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES programme before. Matric Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment. Exposure to heavy machinery or industrial workspaces (advantageous). Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards in an industrial setting. Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial vacuums, pressure washers). Understanding of correct disposal methods for hazardous materials (oil, grease, waste). Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks. Attention to detail to maintain cleanliness in high-use areas. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety regulations. Personal Attributes: Responsible and trustworthy. Punctual and reliable. Safety-conscious, with a willingness to wear PPE at all times. Team player but able to work independently. Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
