About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee Accountant to join our team, providing accounting, tax and general advisory services to our client portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting our manager in delivering exceptional service to our clients, ensuring their expectations are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

• Process transactions from source documents onto Xero Software
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and produce a trial balance
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset registers
• Perform tax and deferred tax computations
• Other ad-hoc accounting relating tasks

Requirements

• Completed Matric (with accounting and mathematics as a subject) with university exemptions
• Enrolled in a BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree with the intention of completing SAIPA articles
• BCom degree and/or equivalent accounting degree, ready to commence with SAIPA Articles
• Proficient in Xero software
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Qualifications

• Afrikaans language skills are essential (the client base consists mainly of farmers in the Northern Cape)
• Completed a relevant degree (BCom) or diploma
