KwaZulu-Natal: Front of House Duty Manager – Luxury Safari Lodge

About the Role

Unspecified Luxury Safari Lodge in Manyoni Private Game Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a professional and proactive Front of House Duty Manager to join their management team. As a live-in role, this position requires an individual who can thrive in a remote lodge environment and confidently oversee front-of-house operations while supporting overall lodge management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily administrative duties including statistics, weekly orders, stock sheets, stock counts and record keeping
  • Management of petty cash and guest invoicing at check-out
  • Receiving deliveries and accurately capturing stock on the system
  • Sourcing goods and supplies for the lodge as required
  • Implementation of operational protocols issued by management
  • Guest check-ins and welcome procedures
  • Conducting room checks prior to guest arrivals
  • Assisting the FOH team with meal setups and service to ensure smooth guest dining experiences
  • Maintaining exceptional guest service standards at all times
  • Team Oversight: overseeing housekeeping and food & beverage teams
  • Working daily with the chefs on menu planning according to dietary requirements
  • Ensuring menu variety with no repetition
  • Overseeing general lodge maintenance, cleanliness of public areas and guest rooms

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (essential)
  • Previous experience in a similar lodge-based FOH / Duty Manager role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel proficiency essential)
  • Able to work independently, show initiative and perform well under pressure

Qualifications

  • First Aid Level 1 (preferred)

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to R10,000 per month, depending on experience

Live-in accommodation provided

Meals while on duty

Groceries supplied for off-shift use

Compulsory provident fund
