MES System Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities Engage with clients to assess MES requirements and ensure solutions align with business objectives. Gather and analyse project specifications to support effective MES solution development. Design and implement tailored MES architectures with a focus on cost-effectiveness and scalability. Oversee the technical execution, configuration, and deployment of MES solutions. Perform system testing, validation, and on-site commissioning. Ensure seamless integration of MES with existing plant systems (SCADA, PLC, ERP). Provide user training, technical support, and maintenance documentation. Lead and guide junior engineers and uphold best practices in MES projects. Offer post-implementation support and troubleshooting. Qualifications & Experience Degree or National Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent NQF level). At least 5 years of experience in MES engineering, system integration, and industrial automation. In-depth knowledge and experience with TrakSYS MES (configuration, deployment, customisation). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and integration with control systems. Familiarity with industrial protocols such as OPC, MQTT, and Modbus. Proficiency in SQL databases. Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or process industries is advantageous. Prior experience with Aveva System Platform or Ignition is beneficial. Ability to manage projects and work directly with clients. Additional Information Market-related salary will be offered based on experience and qualifications.
