Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily laboratory activities to ensure efficient workflow, timely analysis, and accurate test results.
- Lead, train, and evaluate laboratory staff to maintain high performance and professional discipline.
- Oversee laboratory equipment procurement, installation, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure full compliance with company safety rules, environmental regulations, and laboratory best practices.
- Manage sourcing and mobilization of competent laboratory manpower in alignment with project requirements.
- Implement and maintain laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Review and validate test reports, project deliverables, and analytical results for accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain proper documentation, record-keeping, and reporting in accordance with audit and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support project timelines and operational goals.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to laboratory workflow.
- Support budget control, material planning, and resource utilization for cost-effective laboratory operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum 5–8years of experience in laboratory operations in mining sector, preferably gold mining.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising laboratory personnel and overseeing laboratory setup activities.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards, equipment functionality, and QA/QC procedures.
- Experience in project management including equipment supply, installation, and resource planning.
- Proficiency in data analysis, lab information systems, and technical reporting.
