Job Description

My client in the independent pharmacy industry is looking for a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse shall provide patient-centred care by integrating nursing expertise with pharmaceutical services. This role focuses on medication administration, patient education, health screenings, and supporting chronic disease management in collaboration with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. The responsibilities shall include, but not to be treated as an exhaustive list, namely: Medication management Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses. Educate patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions. Ensure proper storage and handling of medications. Patient care Conduct health assessments, including blood pressure, glucose checks, and immunisations. Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with pharmacists and physicians. Provide counselling on lifestyle changes and preventive health measures. Clinical documentation Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Document medication histories and any changes in patient condition. Regulatory compliance Adhere to pharmacy and nursing regulations, including infection control and safety protocols. Stay updated on pharmaceutical research and treatment guidelines. Collaboration Work closely with pharmacists to optimise medication therapy. Coordinate with healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care. Project related assignments Lead initiatives to promote health and safety in the community, such as selling first aid kits. Educate customers on the importance of first aid readiness and demonstrate how kits can prevent complications during emergencies. Organise awareness campaigns and workshops on basic first aid skills. Track project outcomes and report on community impact. Requirements / competencies / attributes shall include: – Grade 12 qualification. – Appropriate nursing qualification and registered with the SAPC. – Own reliable transport. – Clear criminal and credit records. – Must have at least 6 years experience working as a Registered Nurse. – Must have strong customer relationship management ability. – Effective Computer literacy. – Must have Integrity. – Must be results driven. – Good language skills; fluent in English and at least one other official language. – Strong interpersonal skills. – Remain attentive in an often-busy environment. – Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail. – Must be an effective team player. – Excellent problem-solving skills. – Good time management skills. – Great computer skills and the ability to learn new skills quickly. – A professional appearance. – Adaptability. – Positive attitude.
