Job Description

About the Role

The Building Company is seeking a skilled Merchandiser to join our team in Mpumalanga. As a key member of our sales and customer service team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all stock held by the business is correctly and neatly located, binned, and displayed at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Customer Base: Ensure effective communication with customers to achieve sales targets.
Achieve Sales and Gross Profit Targets: Work towards meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets.
Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, customer interactions, and sales data.
Merchandising of Stock: Display products in an attractive manner to enhance customer experience.
Follow up on quotes: Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on quote statuses.
Placement of stock: Ensure timely and efficient restocking of shelves and displays.
Returning Stock not removed from location: Reconcile stock discrepancies and take corrective action.
Ensure Stock is displayed correctly: Maintain a neat and organized store environment.

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar position
1 year shelf packing/merchandising experience
Knowledge of general building material environment
Proven success in personal selling (achieving sales targets), customer service, finding new business (customer), and converting it to actual sales.
Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes
